The signs of the times!

A challenge facing humanity in that one does quite know what to do or how to react. Are we that vulnerable that for once, we are almost faced with extinction? Is it nature’s way of saying to greedy humanoids that it is time to face up to reality and ensures that one does no longer seek to carry on exploiting the world resources and keep on damaging the world ecosystem? Is it not a fact that humans are solely responsible to have caused so much harassment not only to one another but to the environment as a whole? A case of ignoring others for that petty self which is of paramount importance whilst any lesser other/ others animate or inanimate viewed as being mere non -entities Or is it a call for leaders to have a different vision: Perhaps a way of being which does not ignore but acknowledge, or start to relate to the world order not from a materialistic concern but at least considering the above and beyond. May we be really reflective rather than engage in brute force as a mode of being.

Humans are also responsible to lead a life as if we are a separate entity as if all else need to be subservient to them. We make the rules and create borders and set boundaries about and lead a fragmented way of life. Or, we are also good at creating divisions and at causing suffering. A kind of a law of the jungle is always in operation where what seems to matter is one’s own way of being. Separateness par excellence! That so much is down to frictions and negativism is all too obvious.

Far too long we have unduly kept on being violent and causing harm is all too obvious to any observer but to ourselves as a specie.Leading a kind of a recluse life which shows seeds of hatred amongst oneself as an entity as one seeks to face problems to adopting a way which plunders all else that comes in its way whether it is through organised crime against others or those simple of similar injustices one posits to the other in our relationship. A way of life where one which somehow keeps abusing others and takes a condescending view and or whatever one perceives may be adopted as a norm and so the vicious circle of a way of life based on n understanding of what matters is only that self, community, nation of which one is a part to a new idea of a world order which also is being threatened. A global plague transcends petty barriers and causes one to think and be reflective. Can one ignore the signs of the times? Or is there a way out of this sudden global challenge? What may one do as an individual? Or not do for that matter?

How to be is never seen as an option as all is set and maybe we should carry on and carry on leading that form of existence which deny others being. The others are negated and far long has been relegated and abused in service of humanoids. Nature suddenly calling halt and ask us to be reflective and proactive rather than reactive. It is about a question of facing up to the test of the times. A virus has appeared in some part of the world and now spreading around and about the world which is threatening the fabric of the world order. What can or may be done? Is it a normal way which any case is a century affair which strikes and or seems to help recreating another world order? Is it time for reflection?

From a materialistic perspective, there will always be a way forward where all similar problems are no more than challenges through which we shall get through …. In this case at what cost? This problem surfacing around may also challenge the authorities and their wisdom of being leaders of society. To be sure, there is call for calm amidst the hazard which is about. It is no more than a different challenge which may be overcome more swiftly than first thought of as observers are already noticing a pattern to behold as we are living in the early stages of that virus.

So, it is a plague not confined to a town or a village as Camus celebrated novel described which was confined to an isolated community. Here, there is no hiding place. The whole world is threatened in its quest for health. Ordinary lives a re disturbed. A global problem to be faced to: What may be done?

Is this going to be a threat to our existence? Or could it be end of humanoids as a specie? Or it is nature’s way of recreating a balance where it is always the latter which has caused all the imbalance in the world order? From another angle, we have been a pest as a specie to the world order…. always interfering and keep on recreating aspects of imbalance in the world order.

From an ecological perspective, it is clear that humans are the problem always interfering for its own benefits even to the detriment of others. What others may say the naïve? It is all about us and to be sure about me in the final resort where the arrogant nature takes over where the weaker others falls prey to brutality unchecked and, in many cases, these become a norm which the crude thrives upon.  Morally and even in some theological views, the latter are to be pointed fingers at in a big way. Some others see that humanoids lacks from a holistic perspective leading a much-fragmented way of relating rather than seeing everything in a more comprehensive aspect. All that would matter is a lack, or differences which makes the absurd flourish in a world where arrogance as well as frictions reign; indeed where the holistic is relegated, abandoned floor a rash approach of reactionary ways and the sense of being-ness given up to that which is superficial and hate and anger also takes primary stage in its prime.

Is it a question of rude awakening rather than being a mere pawn? Or may one simply carry on in passivity mode? And or accepts one’s in-situation as being all set and accept fate. What does the challenge of such a plague pose to our being? There is a call to move onwards from our arrogance and violence on towards recreating another world order. Who will take heed of the signs of the times?

Appreciating the other…..

Perspective is about being caught up in the realm of the here and now: More or else it is about oneself and of how one may be the controller of events and where this is not so, the subject is angered and emit hatred about which further cause undue frictions. The other in this equation is left aside, neglected and all about the self that one is. As long one is all right, it , it matters little what happened to the other but try and put the shoe on the other side and one is all up in arms as if life is and should always be about oneself to the exclusion of others.Or it can be said that nothing matters but the self, that arrogant self which wants all for itself whilst depriving the other of being. A sad state of affairs indeed when considering that isolating or curbing within oneself is never an option since the whole idea of curbing within or withdrawal onto oneself always is spurious precisely because we are always with others and or link to one another.

A petty self on the move with no regard to anyone but taking note of only one’s wellbeing emanating ideas of “I am all right Jack” in operation. A case of trying to abide by the separatist mode which is a non goer in the world as one knows it.  All that as seen from a negative aspect but try seeing it from its opposite and what may then emerge is more comprehension and understanding so that one begins to appreciate the other. It is the ambiguous nature of perspective where one starts to adds comprehension to the equation rather than dismissal.

A case of trying to view the warmth in the other and just like oneself the latter has a point all the time or it is ever about being there as a scenario unfolds in the praxis of being often impossible to witness. May one always perceives what is about? Or may one miss the opportunity to see the what is as unfolding in front of the subject. Or moving on from a mere pettiness onto a realm of beyond perspective and verily appreciation of any and every other.

The understanding that what lies ahead is a way to see that every other has a view and the subject only lives in a mode above and beyond that superficial which may cause subjugation to be that one is not and in this process one is a mere victim of the ways which coerces one to be that which one is not. To be able to acknowledge and deeply admire the non me for what they are is an exercise into the dialectics of life where all one may perceive in admiration or awe of each and every other: A kind of moving away from the norm of the temporal where judgements are often passed at regular intervals aiming at proving one’s worth at the same time as the other’s frailty whilst the fact of the matter is that it is more of a question of witnessing one’s own fragility as opposed to being valiant. The call is precisely to acknowledge the being-ness  of the other in its full grandeur and or indeed it is all about seeing the sameness in the other as in one self and so no downgrading whilst putting oneself on a pedestal.

To be sure,  not to do so may mean that one is back in the realm of the negative where what matters again is no other but oneself where one not only is only concern about the me but abhors the former: Life indeed is much about viewing it from the perspective of the subject. Whatever the other does is of no consequence nor is that appreciated even to one’s benefit. An almost moronic way at looking at things where all is dismissed but for one’s being. In this vein, what matters again is that petty self regardless whilst trying to negate others into anonymity.

Last week on a rainy day, I was driving along a narrow road. The rain had stopped but clearly what was visible were puddles of water scattered about. I braked relentlessly as far as I could to avoid throwing chunks of water on an oncoming pedestrian. Momentarily, I was delighted about my awareness but a car being a car once it passed through even at some 15-20 kmh must have caused caused what seemed like lots of water to the other as I heard a loud and scream swearing aiming at me or driver of the car!

My personal delight was then questioned by the pedestrian who must have seen the other in me as being unruly and non caring. If only, he would have known what I did in that situation. Or, I wonder what reaction would I as the driver of the car have got if I would have carried on at normal speed of 60 kmh without slowing! All a question of perspective or if you want each to his/hers agenda which is of paramount importance whilst in the process brutalising any other who comes in the way!

What matters is that brute self who has no concern for any other but one’s own way of being, a way that is selfish, ignorant, bitter, immersed in hatred whilst emitting anger about. With this being so, all else is relegated to non entity but for the subject and a sad way to be which merely accounts for oneself. Added to this is that one also permits one to abuse any other and sometimes not only verbally but in every other way as others are seen to be subservient to oneself. A state where only the ‘me’ matters. In this sense, the other’s perspective is well discounted.

Clearly it is a question of comprehension or understanding the other which simply is not there as one is too immersed by what is the most obvious or a way which brutalises the other first. To be sure this echo of Covey’s habit 5 ‘Seek to understand first before being understood’ …. a worthy point to be noted as one always blames the other for one’s shortcomings instead of proactively taking responsibility. The ways of the world are such that arrogance always rules and add to it anger and one is firmly in the realm of the superficial where what matters is ‘me-ism’ par excellence. To rid of such a mode is not that easy whilst equally it may not be that arduous. It is verily about being authentic in a for ever challenging world.

On ‘what is’…………..

One is easily ensnared and or overwhelmed by it all in the mundane which somehow forces one to be instinctive and reactive. Whilst so doing, the subject is ensconced in a whirl of negativism: There is always a sense of trying to see that which is immediate  or imposing that false ego self in the realm of the what is rather than watch and witness that which is  and bring sense and meaning to that which unfolds.

In the latter mode, all one perceives is that grandeur of being: a  calmness and peaceful zone as unfolds …. a sense of stillness where the wind blows gently about and the emerging sounds of the birds breaking that still silence of the realm of quietness. Silence is indeed what makes one be. A question of just observing without any enunciated thought Just watch that stillness and feel the silent breeze! Silence is that virtue of being here, there and everywhere, uncorrupted that is non contaminated with any or something. A way of appreciating par excellence!

It is a venture into appreciating that which unfolds as it is that ‘what is’ unadulterated by the process which is instinctive where one is at the mercy of the known…. That which keeps one subjugated in a mode of the firmly mundane; there is a sense of just trying to be in that form of authentic being where stillness becomes the measure of being rather than an opiniated verbose which tends to betray the spirit of being. In this latter mode, one sees via that veil and is full of animosity, bitterness and may only enounced forms of a way which states that that me-ism is the most vital factor in the equation of being interactive where what matters is ‘ in my opinion’ or this is ‘what I what I think’ and in such protocol of encounter; what is lacking is precisely to just see and or observe what is unfolded in the arena of mindfulness where that beauty of the moment  which is betrayed after falling prey to the instinct. That reactive mode which steals away everything which is there in a moment of madness as one gives more credibility to the whims of the ego and gets carried away in that dense forest of delusion which clearly seeks to embed it within that which is dominated by that veil or at best within a reactive mode when cautioned and or forced on by others whether animate or inanimate.

That is where one loses sense of appreciating the other and or perceive things as should be. Rather, all forms of the seen are subjected to the diktat of the mental process and its input whilst that which is perceived relegated and  only prevails to that subjective form as per the whims of the bigoted ego, which forces one to be a mere reactionary based on ‘learnt’ equally verbosity and other historical baggage which continues to dominate the subject way of being instead of just being there and or witnessing that calm  way of being and hearing those inspiring sounds as emanating from that environment about us as hinted above. Or it is all about may one simply appreciate without prejudice and be there in the midst of the world arena and witness. Observing and being, watching without the whims and actually seeing whilst merging in the beauty of what is.

In this scenario, what is actually here is witnessed in authenticity rather than any preconceived aspect which blurs one’s being and become the mirror or veil through which one is pertinently subjugated as one perceives. One is whirled away in a mist of subjugation where the whims takes over and the subject is a prey in the form of whisked aside giving rise to those forms which takes one away from being there in that dialectics which simply calls one to be. Confusions arises and the subject merely tries imposing its own forms of seeking abject comforts in its unparalleled acceptance of a wild way of interactions where confusions reign and when this takes over there is always a reactive form in operation and when this is so, all sorts of vile frictions are thrown about. And again, one is at best a victim unknowingly entangled in those forms of negativism which takes away any reflective forms of being.

Content in this mode of being, lots are missed, that ability to be here and just witnessed what is to be really perceived. The mind may either be a comrade in action or simply that which takes us away on a mission of revolt and or acknowledging that form which merely stifles everything: The wise chooses that which is above and beyond the mundane way or a transcendent form of being there and being at par with what is about ; not imposing or dictating but seeing that the subject too is part of the seen in a wholeness of being.

To be sure, is it possible is for one to just witness in world arena?…… rather than dominate; to simply being there in appreciative mood and part of the whole…. Or must one always be in that mode of being a controller, which seeks to impose? Why is one so keen to be that one which is not? Or trying to give the impression that only through that ego self that life makes sense, in that aspect of separatism which promote all sorts of obsequious forms which only leads in the dungeons of delusions of grandeur of making one feels that one is in control in that fluid state of the world.

Realisation  that there is a fluidity about and or that all that is seen with the senses is temporary may well cause one to stop, pause and reflect and perhaps begin to be here in the mode of appreciation. This   may make one see without prejudice of that form which simply is  here, there, and everywhere without figmentation or similar concoction of the mental process. Or is the state of non-fragmentation possible at all? May one awake from that illusory dream and be able to be part of a wholeness of being? Is it possible to just see as Krishnamurti often has stated rather than imposing one’s being, one’s preconceptions onto the world? Or is one simply condemned as a bodily self to be forced via the modes. Or does everything depends on the choices the subject makes in one’s encounter with the world?

The ego’s closed mindset!

It is always easier to say what one thinks in that others should do this, that or the other. The latter somehow lacks credulous aspect whereas the ‘me’ not may but is right or so says one always proclaim knowledge in the mundane with its confusion, frictions and pettiness from which there is little escape. One may never do as within this norm of being, one seeks others of the mindset and set up a vicious circle which keeps one rooted at a level of the mind where the subject feels satiated in the superficial thereby carry on believing that things needs to emerge from that ego self that one is. In the process, the other or others are denied being.

A kind of an arrogant mode of being emerges where one simply fails to apprehend outside one’s self created boundary of seclusion. In this mode of exclusivity, there is no room to seek understanding, or even attempting to see what the other may be trying to communicate as one is simply closed to all possibilities. What matters is how one perceives, leaving one firmly in that realm of directly erroneously believing that one is the lord of one surveys, feels, thinks and that others or the other simply has to follow suit.

Such are the thoughts of one who live in that realm of being where the other needs to have to see it all according to the subject’s vision:See it this way, and one is a dear friend indeed but try and challenge our friend and the latter then sees the latter as one who lacks comprehension or siding with the other. Yet life, is more than taking sides.

Is it not possible to be without being in the either-or arena? Certainly in material life that is the way to be yet is it not possible to reflect and be?That is the challenge one faces as we go through life.In the mundane however, the way forward is that simpleton of trying to impose oneself onto others due to the fact that what matters is that arrogant being who want to see life as per one’s own way of being without let alone giving credibility but perhaps even mere acknowledgement is lacking. It is all about me-ism in action or when every other is taken out of the equation. All about that ego self which is the measure of everything. No need for anyone but that self which want to be in control. In this manner one who seeks to dominate take the road ahead as if all and the world is about that petty self in action which want to dictate.

The vision of one who is thus caught up is all too clear: All about condescending and arrogance in its prime mode, a mode as encapsulated by the tendency to merely perceives via the subjective outlook. Whilst one does so, everyone and everything becomes an arena for one’s projection. As the lord of what one surveys becomes the ongoing motivation; every other is objectified and treated as a lesser being. That condescending attitude emerges as a natural process.

No need for anyone or anybody. It is all about that blatant self or that ego self that one is. Such is the strategy of one who merely views all things as per one’s self in exclusion of any other. Mostly, one takes on the view that the other is self-servient to the subject’s needs and therefore permits oneself to take the nasty way of disrespecting any other and see life as that which bis made for them only. In this process there is a lack of recognition for contributions from others. All about Me, Me and Me: where there is a failure to pin down others to ransom, the subject makes use of violence o r similar to try to get one’s way.

To be sure in this process there is never any pause or reflective approach about the other. By objectifying the latter, all that matters are the self or that ego self that one is regardless of the dialectics or life as it is. Yet the latter is also jaunt as much another living entity equally as potent as the subject is, but the latter rarely even acknowledge lesser others. Belonging to the world of ‘Chef’, they lead a life of disconcerted form as they give themselves all and everything. That negative mind self creates a way that is blatantly of underpinning others.

The chiefs also believe that they are of the ruling classes at the impersonal level whilst on a personal level feels equally that the world was made for them. It is a question of being part of a clan where there is superiority and it’s opposite and naturally the chiefs belong to the superior kind. As this is so, exploitations of all lesser others become the norm to be. Whilst they do so, naturally they carry with them other prospective adherents who also learn their tragic ways at maintaining their ego self. In that mode, there is no care for anyone bar oneself or those closely associated to oneself. As far as some living entity goes, no chance of whatever: even meals are made out of these and as society there is almost a widespread acceptance of such a norm. Whilst this is so, it is unsurprising that the contradictions from the mass remains. Instead of taking arms against the proponents of the absurd way, everything is accepted as a way to be.

The arrogant by virtue of their contribution to that way of life which denigrates all others live in that realm of the material where they are dictated by the modes …. And mostly by the ignoramus or passionate forms.

The question emerging form all this is that is it possible to really see and appreciate all others and or are we condemned to be in a certain mode of being as per one’s vile form of salience? Is there any hope to move onwards and witness and or appreciate the other, not verbally but actually? If possible, to be sure, there is hope if not one is merely a victim of the mundane culture which merely promotes competition and where on keeps on learning how to be at the top whilst subjugating all others. The choice to be is one of seeing and appreciating that grandeur of life without prejudice. Is this possible?

A question of how to be !

Anger and hatred are always felt. The point is not to be reactive in such situations, but rather be pro-active. In reactive mode, there is always a danger of giving in to lots of negativities where what may matter is trying to wretch away from pronouncement as felt by the victim and thereby merely helping to create further discord. It is the easiest way to be in a world where one may be easily trample upon and so become a mere puppet. In some ways, that is the trend is to adopt an instant mode of counteracting that feeling of injustice. One has learnt to do so all the time with the idea of quick responses and particularly so where there seems to have been an injustice as felt by the receiver. To nurture that feeling of being right whilst the other is lacking or may not be so gives added impetus to one’s resolve and so the proper course may be to appeal to that instinct of not letting oneself down.

It is a fact that going down such a route merely means that there is a collision awaiting to happen with one or the other party intent at crying out for justice and seeking redress. Whereas one does so via negatives, the other’s reactions are based on being on the receiving end of direct abuse as felt verbal or otherwise. It is all a case of lack of understanding from the other that may have led to the discordance. In this process there is no meeting of minds, or reaching out but a mere confrontation on how to be. All that one becomes surrounded with more frictions and discordances.

And so, the stark choice of friction and or further disarray is there becomes a reality with hostility , discontentment and bitterness carrying on as it is a norm or a normal way to be given the kind of arena we are in .To be so is verily a fact of being entrenched in contaminated consciousness within the realm of the material where all does is to hover around its boundaries and so it is a vicious circle or a trap that it is difficult to get out of…

….so, the subject carries on within that realm of contradictions and where frictions reign and somehow there is no escape as the choice has been selected as that which causes and or brings about aspects of negativism. There is no way out if one carries meeting the other through a norm of reaction. The alternative needs to be explored and or called upon where one looks ahead having taken stock of the problems inherent in maintaining the approach of the instinctive mode of being where mistakes are also instinctively made whereas on a more reflective way where one reflects and called to a halt whether it is bitterness, contempt, hatred, or verbal or other forms of violence.

The alternative uses a  also arise a different strategy to respond, not necessarily that of being enraged as in a shouting match as the proactive way verily calls to stretch out even to the other who may not be amiable so that the process of seeking to comprehend any other begins regardless of their rudeness, or perceived discourteousness and or lack of civility in dealings with the other.

However, to do so requires one who is unique and not be someone who is attuned into the mundane as the latter has a set way which is learnt as being an act of survival of the usual form… ‘you like me. I like you. And you love me. So, I return the favour.’ But just try and do the opposite and all hell may go loose with one turning even the loved or desired one into almost a non-entity with that earlier loved being relegated to even hate. Try and talk to most who have broken up in relationships or divorced and they may easily vouch for such a common trend.

Material culture with its contaminated consciousness refers to mundane relationships where there are gains just like in normal business activities. If there is nothing for ‘me’; to be sure there is no interest from the other as the apparent motivation is based on aspects of lust and envy and greed at seeking more and more albeit in relationships so that one may keep going within that dungeon of desires.

Take away the desires and what is left is a fragmented animal who may feel there is no hope on the me-ism which keeps one active and firmly rooted into the zone of the material. The motivation are those crude desires, those feelings of happiness and enjoyment once taken out of the equation makes one perceive another realm of being where the crude form no longer exists.

Instead arises one who is not subjected to the format or constraints as placed by the instinct mode which calls for all things instant. And in instant comes the instinctive and following such a pattern which further adds on to disturbance and disharmony and where is no harmony, nothing creative may emerge. That is the kind of trend we have been used to. Or how one has adopted the survival kit of tit for tat….meaning meet hatred by the same category as one will return the favour of violence with the same vigour. Verily to be so entrenched even where one is not the initiator is to fall to prey to the mundane.

However, sages have long warned us that there are other ways than to counteract negativism than more of the same which leads nowhere but on a path of destruction. The prudent way is to explore alternatives, and or posing challenges to the ‘learnt’ way and try being that which make the other reflect as well. Whether, this be silence and or turning those negatives into positives it is for the individual to decide and seeing what may work given that one is drenched into contaminated consciousness.

What is non contaminated consciousness is for the reader to research and find out as there are ways which may not simply be just those instinct forms. What one knows is that it is of a different realm or perhaps that realm where one is at a different level of the mind away from that materialism unto the transcendental. So, what is the transcendental? Keeps searching………

A case of corporeal obsession!

The self is identified with what is seen and is the most obvious way of identifying the other as well and yet somehow if it becomes the measure of everything:  one lives at a platform of the superficial as all is seen via this simpleton that one is the body full stop. Yet somehow very few would say that one is that physical self which is directly visible.

The fact of the matter is that one is more than just the perceived aspect. Yet, it is that which occupies oneself, almost an obsession with that special bodily form.  No one really says that one is the body yet one spends so much into embellish it and from which glamorisation of the latter occurs.

From the moment one is up there is a case to be to take care for that exterior being and grooming or let’s say decorating that seen aspect of one’s being. A look in the mirror and yes, ‘I look good. Wow! What a star… I need to always look great to be sure for oneself but also for others. In the morning, it is a case of getting ready and in the evening likewise, we are again overwhelmed by that which appears.

In some ways the bodily form the visual link: that physical structure makes one feels superb, good, or otherwise.  In persistence that the physical aspect takes over, through enhancing of that form about us makes one ignore that other inner part of the self where little attention is paid to almost being negligent. To decorate only what is perceived, is to keep identifying with that superficial aspect of one’s being seeking and searching for what may never be in the mode of being firmly so or let’s say solidly so.

It is a probe into the temporal that which is merely transient and keep on going through the stages of simply being in flux whilst being a victim of time. Persistence in its preservation and or keeping that in pristine form always leads to a kind of undue effort as all is on the move. It is that movement which often takes one away from the merely temporal towards the transcendental…. Where one seeks to explore and or probe into the self that one is where sure the question opens up into the what/who am ‘I’ query.

The concern is mainly to look good than feel good and so much is spent in what is impermanent. From simple products to cosmetic surgery, the subject is always finding ways in trying ways at keeping the exterior as best as could be. There is so much almost obsession from keeping and being healthy or trying to keep fit; from walking to gym and or trying alternatives of hatha yoga and or joining clubs and seeking a way to be better and better form the exterior aspect or that bodily aspect. The comrade within is ignored, betrayed and so not even acknowledged with a tendency to be all about that transient bodily aspect.

As a society, one organises health clubs, similar facilities including clinics, hospitals to ensure that one is always fit and healthy. And or in an attempt to keep well. There is an infatuation as already hinted with keeping that gross aspect in tune as after all, that is the vehicle which carries the inner being as well. A gaze at the advert shows that all is promoted via often that of exploited that special form of models as one gets caught up in in simply objectifying even that which is more.

As one remains on such a platform, sure there is no reflection. One simply is a victim of the physical, the mundane which cares merely for that carcass that one is. On its own, the exterior or the bodily- self is almost a hindrance unless one tries and place it in context in that there is another aspect to one’s being.

Without a refined inner, physical attraction may not suffice unless there is a synergy where the inner is an equal partner and more importantly it is that which makes one as powerful, valiant and provides direction, a directive which a mere body however polished requires that force or energy to make it tick and move along. Just imagine a mere body without consciousness and one instantly gets what is herewith being communicated!

What one needs to do is to create a balance between that exterior and the interior or that inner being which is there, always there observing and watching and most of the time ignored. In some instances, it is commonly also believed that all that there is to life is that by which we are seen as being most obvious.

As we persevere along this route, one ignores the inner which in a way remains the essential self or that which makes one moves about and carry on without that unseen part which reflect and makes us takes decisions is that non corporal being which is that core. Vaishnava tradition refers to it as the soul as that whereas all that is seen in living entities are merely the outer covering. Or that one may have a body of an elephant or a slug, a demigod or a human being or let’s say and ant at the next all part of the karmic process.

There is a case to kind of be concerned and research at least if not work out ways as to how to move away from purely bodily being which may have ample forms on this view where all is moving and in flux based on merely the material. That bodily structure that are perceived are simply aspect that keeps going through changes like starting as a new born whatever bodily from towards moving on to a toddler, then infant, youth, middle aged and elderly before succumbing to the effect of time when it withers away.

Yet much is made of it in an effort t nourishing it and keeping it the same as if it is non impermanent whereas all of us are aware of the constant changes which effect any living entity but as always a question of seeking to be that which may never be or trying to seek solidity in a perpetually fluid world. That is what is at stake as we venture with our own obsession at keeping that bodily aspect as being the be and end of everything.

It seems little is done about exploring that other part and or finding the quintessence of one’s being as is proclaimed in traditions such as above mentioned. All are based on a crude way of being and the essential part is ignored. Atheists agree with not bringing any form of dualism. All is clear in their strategy of life: A question of seeing that physical aspect as being everything and anything subtle or what may be not observed is viewed with suspicion and not real.

What the naked eye may see and or observed by the other senses are meaningful and the rest simply classed as pure figment. On this view, the transcendent becomes a myth whereas life is all about the seen. There is one life and so the realm of the non-physical is a non-starter and so would side with the obvious and the corporeal.

However, from the perspective of others who tries going further than the merely material, one is more than a mere bodily encounter. Or, it makes sense to explore above and beyond the material or just that bodily slant. Just what is that inner aspect of one’s being? Or the soul? Sure, is it an aspect that needs be simply brushed aside in that we turn merely to that bodily form as emerges in living entities about oneself? Or carry on ignoring it? But the point is that we are too engrossed in that simple glorification of the exterior to the negligence of the inner: herein is the problem….We do not know or is it that one is simply contended with the merely physical?

The realm of the fragment!

Being together is an effortless exercise particularly if one learns to live with and or for the other. In this mode of existence there is no separatism that is, the other and me. Rather one yearns to be in a spirit of togetherness. There is as such a unity, a goal to be achieved that of synergy where a sense of calmness swipe over and all one sees about is a frame of how to be. Reaching out becomes a measure of being where the subject always is intention to be positive.

To be destructive on the other hand, is to always find fault with the other at all times. In this mode of being, there is no meeting place of being together or reaching out. It is about putting the other down and seeking something non positive. One takes that approach presumably as the subject wishes to keep control. Divisions takes over and the subject here is much interested in a kind of self -preservation /survival and with it naturally comes arrogance, hatred, frictions and disharmony.

A kind of a senseless approach where the individual is for ever intent at first of all looking at the minute negatives about the other whilst thinking that the latter is the cause of all the malaise about. Whatever the other may do, may never be sufficient for one who has espoused a route of hatred closely associated with anger at the base where all one cares about is verily to thrive on the separatism aspects that exist.

The mindset of one who is positive seeks to view the other as a living warmth, a comrade which may enhance our being whilst the negative -prone subject sees the other as a constant threat not only to be put aside but indeed the latter intently seeks to firmly also see the enemy in the other, someone to be despised. In destructive mode, there is a one-way traffic of frictions, fragments and hatred usually resulting in violence. The spirit of togetherness is substituted for aggression making hatred the base of one’s being.

Such feelings are part and parcel of one who has taken up materialism at its core or a way forward and thereby relying on what the modes offer, in its mostly ignoramus and passionate forms whilst the ‘goodness’ aspect is usually sub cultural or meant for a selected few if at all, to the detriment of the rest. Obviously in such a trend, all become a subject of despise and with this being so, there is hardly any reflection on how to be and move into that realm which seeks to better and better oneself as all has a clear strategy to devise ways at creating distances. Rapprochement or reunion of one and the other is a far cry. One simply remains in congruity only where there are sadly aspects of dislike, contempt, hate and vileness. A way to be at a level of the mind where one adopts being in the world whilst seeking to outdo the other based on an intention of suppression or annihilation of others.

Divisions and fragments constitute a non-healthy way to be as espoused by those who creates and thrives on differences. The positivist always seeks to see what unites whilst its opposites always find ways at placing those of a certain type in control starting with themselves of course whilst undermining others.

In their vocabulary the norm of the transcendental way is non-existent. It is all about resentment, hostility and animosity in play and that where their strengths lie, in carrying that is forging disintegration whilst throwing seeds of frictions if only to further germinate aspect of separatism. Everything is disjointed: obstacles are created if they are not, they do not arise due to the frictions which are set in motion. Thus, problems emerge everywhere, frictions and factions to be in a certain way by the so-called controller or those who may be seemingly in a stronger position.

The aim of the latter it appears is to make the weaker others as perceived to submit to their vile ways and with time the negativists take the view that those on the receiving end of nastiness may lose their identity and conform to the strategy of the autocrat who germinate discord, would prevail. On the other hand, no one in the world would acquiesce willingly to grow into anonymity. Individuals, and people everywhere throughout history has awakened and risen above and beyond constraints placed either physically and culturally or otherwise taken actions to shrug injustices and arise towards reasserting themselves so as to bring about a different world order where frictions and hatred are replaced by well being of one and all and to be sure not for the few but to one and all on towards a realm of mankind where one is recognised rather than being  suffocated.

Just like at the interpersonal level, one abhors being cornered into subjugation to one or other likewise at a more impersonal level the concern is to move out of the domain of being stifled towards seeking freely opportunities just like any other without constraints.

Yet all these norms pertain to the platform of the material which thrives on divisions as there is simply no vision to awake and verily seek that which is above and beyond the mundane. If one moves from the platform of the mundane, to be sure all else becomes clearer in that there is reflection on the realm of the material. It is a question of moving away from that altogether which brings one to the level of seeing that one is really, not from a perspective or a view or via a veil. Or, like we have remarked in previous writings: Is it possible to simply be and so awakened to a form whereby one neither is part of an ‘ism’; a kind of freshness of being without constraints. Can one just be and inversely see the other equally as someone without referring to or bringing in the equation one’s own historical baggage which makes one fails to perceive and see clearly and distinctly. That is a challenge that the mind needs to awake to if it has to make sense of the world in to which one has been thrown into. Make sense of it all and be at peace. Or take a side, some side and adopt an ‘ism’ at one’s peril since all one does is then to conform and become a victim of that emotional hindrances. Is it possible to be free? Or is one for ever a victim of history?

Moving forward or stagnation!

Sanity demands that one moves onwards rather than being stuck or backwards: Most of us are the point where there is little appreciation of the flux nature of things, meaning that one is contended to keep a status quo. To be in this position provides stability and the subject is able to plan ahead in that there are rarely things in life that are changed in a drastic way.

In relationships for instance, it is a given that there is a commitment to be with the other in spite of variables that emerges for most people. Others takes a swifter step that of moving on in their life as soon as it is observed that there is a lack of interest in the other from one or other party. In many respects, people moving on is itself to be applauded as there may be hardly much to be achieved by either party bar causing further distress in a volatile relationship.

When one reminisces, often to go back down in memory lane brings about those nostalgic moments as previously cherished and so we have a sense of adopting solidity as a way forward.

Our whole life in some ways is based on keeping that sense of always being so moved as there are things to hold onto……. without being reminded that what is present in life is a facticity not of permanent but more of its opposite where fluidity is really the norm by which life provides its way of teaching us always: That is, to move along and forwards rather than being entangled and caught up at a specific moment or in that lovely past  dare one adds.

As one is entangled, attachment emerges in the equation in that there is almost a refusal to move along or onwards with almost an obsession to keep and choose based on essentially being stuck whilst a failure to appreciate that there is simply no firmness of being in any aspects of life as The Buddha reminds us through one of the three marks of existence.

Ignoring this remark entails that one remains at a level of  non certainty. That in itself causes undue problems not only with oneself but with others about oneself as aspects of suffering ‘dukkha’ creeps in slowly.

And where there is dukkha, all is imbalanced as the subject still intent on holding firm to a certain mode of being and likewise ignoring that there is no essential being or the ‘atta’ aspect in life.

All is the opposite when one chooses to be analytical as the prince who left a life of luxury for a contemplative life taught us in his lifetime. Or the sooner one comes to grips with this dynamic of transiency one starts glaring at the unfolding stark reality as is presented in the course of life.

Or there is no permanence, all is in flux, dukkha everywhere and likewise verily no essential being to keep and hold on to.

From then onwards, one may move forwards and witness that which is and in doing so sanity returns and there is an apprehension of revelation about beingness without imposition or more precisely a way to be free of the contradictions, frictions, conflicts into which one is usually embedded with.

When this is so there is an inclination towards hatred, anger, confusions which give rise to other pettiness such as further disarray and sometimes either withdrawal of self or open violence, in its similar verbal or other forms.

All points as per such observation that one needs to move on wards if only for the sake of sanity of being but unfortunately the nature of life is such that one is entangled or stuck at a point where it seems there is no way forward.

This is so as there is attachment for more of the same or in brief of wanting more and more, a kind of craving for what is being missed. Or this is how the mind functions in search to be kept at a level where there are enjoyments and happiness unlimited.

The crux of the matter is that there is no such thing as keeping an ever going pleasurable state of affairs or to be brought back to that moments of nostalgia where things were after all delightful. The delight now gone and the mind still wish to keep hold of it.

Impossible to both go back and or so revel nor to recreate those moments gone. All that are left are memories, hence more a question of trying to simply be without any form of remorse with attempting to move on in all earnest rather than be stuck.

Those who have moved on or away from the past moments are the successful ones. It is all about seeing clearly what needs doing and not doing from a thoughtful perspective rather than being stuck at a point of keeping a status quo for its own sake.

Life is dynamic onwards process where one needs to consider the implications of pros and cons from a reflective perspective and or weighing a course of actions which brings sanity not only for oneself but also for others.

Not to do means that one may try imposing some ways based of a simpleton of holding back where every other alternative course of action seems non worthy due to one’s deeply held dogma of staying put and maintaining a way which in spite of causing distress is kept whilst alternatives are dismissed due to the lack of perception of seeing from any and every possible angle on the nature of the what is as unfolded.

One seeks to simply enjoy and enjoy based on a past perspective and keeping hold on inducing further craving. There is no sense of rational course of contemplation or action which may cause the subject moving on.

All is fixed and hence the problem of one who may be distress even when a viable alternative may be projected as there is a sense of contentment, a kind of never wanting to budge but holding on and or continue to explore ways of seeking more and more based on what has been experienced previously and or a refusal to simply pause and or move forward.

To move onwards seems not appropriate as one may lament over what may be missed. In the process to be sure, such minds may not even consider the lost opportunities at looking further than their petty self. Are you ready? Sure, it is all your call based on one’s personal in-situation!

Tolerance observed: Another view!

From a materialistic perspective, tolerance is defined as that which somehow is seen mostly negatively in that one has to put up with things that is disliked. Or the point is that somehow one is better than the other to be acknowledged albeit with some contempt in some cases. There is an air of superiority about in that the recipient of our acceptance of the other is based on an inclination that there is always a sense of negativity in operation to one’s own privileged position. A kind of condescending way of being where the other is necessarily downgraded to a level of perhaps acknowledgement but pity in many ways like one may notice for instance with aspects of positive discrimination where although relatively fine still the disadvantaged may be seen to be so due to some perceived apparent lack.

One therefore feels that the other is really one not to be a comrade with but simply endured for being different. There is at best a sympathy or a kind of an understanding that one needs to show clemency  that is be merciful and yet again in this mode of being, one remains far from being open but more a sense of still having the upper hand where the other is not given its dues for being but all a more camouflaged way of settling up one’s own agenda where me-ism remains rampant or let’s say there is charity of work in this process and where this be so the subject always feels on a different  more elevating posture. The call is to move away from such condescending tones and be appreciative of the other as is revealed face to face or as one encounters in the world. Or a question of seeing the other as a warmth per se rather than of trying to be nice and or similar. It is about relating to each other via a dynamic of being without having to show or pronounce the other’s abjection.

From a transcendental perspective, the other is as much respected as the self. Or those divisive barriers may not be. Rather, the other and the self is seen as a synergy of being where there is no separatism at work….or where a common beingness prevails with no me nor the other but an usness in operation. All barriers are set aside and verily a camaraderie prevails. To be sure that sense of being calls for a consciousness away from the temporal where what always emerges is that sense of unity in being. A rare call but one where there is no separation or seeking to thrive on what separates the self rather than unite. Such a state moves away from the mode of tolerance as widely perceived. More it is about being with others in a not dissimilar way that one is in the world ; a sense where one or any other likewise is as equally of paramount importance.

The other is respected just as oneself, nothing less or more for that matter. What one does is to acknowledge the frailties of being and in this mode, one verily is prepared to accept or bear insults and dishonour from others. It is not that one is seen higher or lower in the equation of relationships with the other but more of aiming towards recreating a calmness without confrontation where perhaps a material form of tolerance may well expose the subject to retaliate when challenged. The working strategy could not be clearer in the non mundane way way whereas in the former there is always a hidden agenda in that the other is essentially not like oneself as all is based on a temporary essence of being whilst in its transcendental form there is no such issue. All living entities share a common being and that respect is accorded naturally or extended to one and all without being conditional. A synergy of being is seen as the essence of being just like a tree which tolerate so much of human’s frailties in terms of abuse and not well cared for  and like the earth bombed and polluted and yet a calmness is maintained as both the earth and the trees are not communicated to as these are seen as inanimate in spite of Francis of Assisi and Vaishnavas having contrary views or appreciating all forms of being.

The alternative view of tolerance means that one accepts the other’s deficiencies as the tree or earth would  unlike the material type which initially relegate others into a lesser being where the self is always seen and viewed as more essential. In Vedic culture, the tree is a living being and earth overall is seen as mother. While the tree tends to accept abuse from one and all likewise the tree is there always forgiving and or not putting the air of superiority over humans. Let’s say there is a pure humility at work which is proposed where the other is viewed as never to be despised and or pulling ranks via the mode of giving credence to the other only due to the subject always holding the upper hand in relationships. This may not be so in its transcendental form where there is an in- built respect of the other in the first instance. A question of never the other or me in a spirit of division but more of a comprehension that all is about perceiving that in-situation of being in a more non divisive way.A way that refers to of togetherness in a praxis rather than a mere idea, or an actual act of appreciation of every other rather than a mere acknowledgement that there are others to be sure but a few or some including the ‘me’ and or some chosen ones are of a different stature and more precisely definitely better and so one out of compassion feels for the other/others and so delineate some corrective measures to ‘help’.

In this sense, the aspect of help merely perpetuates an on going aspect of fragmentation which sure may lead to friction since the other is always perceive as a lesser being. There is no respect and humility at the base of the transcendental form which purports to do in that tolerance becomes that which makes one essentially prepares to accept and or bear insult and dishonour from others. A kind of a training to be humble and or respect the other non conditionally.

A calmer way of being!

A challenge always awaits one upon rising early for most of us as we get up to face another day. Most of the time, there is work to be done during the day whether paid or otherwise: Life is so fashioned that we spend a large percentage of it doing things mostly in relation to the benefits that a working life may provide. Mostly an economic viability to be able to do whatever one wants within the usual framework of society. With this being so, almost a third of one’s life is so spent doing so and with a further third spent sleeping this leaves the subject with barely sufficient time to engage in those fun activities which one is taught towards or seeking happiness in a fluid world.

Or there is simply no balanced in life if one further considers travelling time then planning and preparation towards doing a ‘good’ job. It appears that after work, one is exhausted and left with barely sufficient time to refresh and back to being on again. To be ‘On’ again means that the whole process starts all over again. Most people also do a 5 day a week. Others work non-stop around the clock whilst some do night shifts and others irregular shift work.

Amazing that where spends so much time often is not given due attention in preparation time so that one is not a victim of rush, rush and rush. An unplanned work ethic brings about disorganisation and a sense of daily chaos when the subject is faced up with the task to be done. Part of it, Covey has already stated in his 7 habits of highly successful people where the latter tends to have an overall action plan of what is to be done or not to be done. The difference between failure and success is in planning or lack of it. Or as we have observed before that to fail to plan is planning to fail.

Interesting that one spends so much time in planning for a holiday where we spend barely 2 weeks on average whereas zero time on how to create a balance of how to start one’s working day which seems where the subject spends most of one’s working life. That is where, the prudent needs to set aside time and create one’s own routine. To be sure, as always, the intention of this writer is not to provide such a blank time table for everyone to follow but rather to each according to one’s in-situation .

The whole of life is so framed as to follow a certain sense of religiosity, economic development and sense gratification with the aim at being able to keep enjoying oneself and or being able to constantly engaged in those pleasurable activities to the avoidance of the opposite. Or there is a running after that which is transient and in flux at all times whilst everything about and around us turns frantic from the moment of awakening. And so, one lives in this mode at all time or let’s say a pure way of engaging with life in a most hectic form as the subject put on the switch on button which happens daily.

Even from a material perspective, one is still further away from being organised and where this is so, other problems arise. The Sanskrit term ‘aksanikah’, that is not having even a moment to reflect on any aspect of life, let alone the higher purpose of life clearly makes the point of one’s deficiencies in being. There is a case to set time aside for reflection and planning even at the basic level as without a clear strategy one will be at a loss, not knowing what to do or not to do. More than a sad state of affair when the subject is simply entangled and caught up in the realm of the mundane. The symptom of the misfortune, to reiterate, is that one simply fails to properly use the stop, pause and reflect signal. With this being so, one is at a disadvantaged and let’s say clueless how to proceed. All is done haphazardly as per how things appear as the reactionary approach and that is why one is always on the edge in the attempt to relate or engage appropriately. One is at the mercy of circumstance for ever: losing one’s being and self-control. As one becomes edgy, relationships suffer as the subject verbally may throw abuse about without realising that this is so. Verily, a sad state to be but a fact or by product of lack of being there in full consciousness. To be sure, all arises as one is never with it but a question of being led towards it through force of circumstance where one is helpless.

In a more organised mode, one may evade such sad state of affairs. We have already hinted as to how to proceed through reflection mode in that there is a need to be more organised. However, which format this takes will be for the other or reader to decide. The key questions to consider are how does one firstly break free from being submerged in a perpetual environment which coerces us to make deliberate errors? And how to be in a more pro-active mode? Will being so be a hindrance or help towards calming of the self? Further, may one use aspects of self organising as a bridge seeking to take more care of the self that one is? Or is self-realisation is meant only for a few rare souls whilst the rest simply remains cornered into subjugation?

Depends on how one answer some of the above questions posed, the subject may decide what the next step to be but whatever it is, surely it may help in framing a path away from the ways of just being reactionary on towards a more pro-active way calling for caution and careful planning rather than leaving everything to the last moments and react instinctively which sometimes may be useful and at other times leaves a lot to be desired. The guarantee of a proactive way is that one is never taken by surprises. No other may be harmed. Anger and dislike of the moments replaced by a more significant and substantial way of being where calmness and for ever reaching out and not putting down of the other prevails. All indeed a question of choice of how to be!
