Witnessing in silence………

In the silent of my mind away from that dense realm of matter which engulfs one’s being; somehow one may observe that which is, not that which is seen through a veil. It is time for meditation and discover a realm which is not subjected to the scrutiny of the senses or it is a movement towards progressing away from the noise, the frailties and the conditioned state.

In this silence, intelligence is awakened and at that moment there rises a being not confounded by the invariable modes in which one is sucked in regardless of who one is except of course those who has adopted the path of a seer. This of course is aimed by those of us who are still fully immersed in that pool of materialism where the mind is the enemy, and its being is taken away by the mundane in that arena where one is a mere pawn…. where one easily drifts away sometimes here and sometimes there and everywhere. Stillness is not there. All there is a perpetual flickering away of one’s time in a flux world which passes us by. The concern is a futuristic planning whilst what is there is missed or let’s say neglected.

At the rise of intelligence in that silence there awakens a friend …. That same mind which has taken shelter of the self the being which one veritably is. The flickering mind is at the mercy of the reactionaries and easily governed by what it perceives via a veil. However, when that same mind is turned towards that self that one is, there is a shift in consciousness from the superficial towards a transcendental realm as it links towards one’s quintessence which is not a product of that bodily or mental self.

The bodily self has its own attraction in that all it cares for is comfort and a case of seeking of happiness and avoidance of pain which of course is impossible as one gets the other regardless of whether one wants it or not. Sorrow follows happiness as darkness follows light. The pairs of opposites may never be avoided. So, in complicity with the mental self; the bodily one achieves and sometimes attains remarkable achievements in the realm of the material but again all is done in that realm of the impermanent where it is always in flux which may never be at the next moment as things may change so swiftly.

The bodily-self wishes to hold on it as pleasures are abound in that form; That idea of enjoying more and more. The senses are raised to an optimum and demands more of the same. Let’s enjoy says the bodily self to its comrade the mental self and so they co-exist in that form of ignorance and passion. The former only knows to enjoy without limit. The mental self sometimes asks his comrade to pause but mostly he is carried away by his friend who has shown him a different modal lifestyle away from its source, or its real or essential self. There may not be any turning away from that since one leads the other and as a team; they experience a crude aspect of life based on enjoyment and similar worldly pleasures.

On the other hand, awaiting elsewhere is that other non -physical or mental self which is there and readily awaits a call. But this friend is a special one. He simply witnesses what is around and about but rarely interferes. Indeed, if one seeks to be involved in brutalities or other rudeness, he simply acquiesces. Likewise, if the individual wishes to be involved in positivism, again the onlooker simply is there…. not to interfere but as the silent observer.

Most of the time, it is via the mental self is far too busy in its daily routine where things operate. Too busy, busy, busy, busy! In that mode of being, one is merely a living pawn simply an automaton at the mercy of an almost suffocated mind which may not think. Or rather it is so polluted in the conditioned state that it fails to perceives what is about. In a way it is a reminiscence of the efficient technocrat who is so engrossed that one may never find time to reconnect with the self.

What is revealed is a fragmented being which is corrupted by the exterior …. a kind of a moving into a separatism form of being. Indeed, one may never know or perceive the whole since most of what witness is via fragmentation or seen partially.

At synergy time, one engages with that self which one truly is. It is a meditative way of being where one no longer revel in or crave about and or attribute royalty that is recognition to the parts in which one is submerged. In truth all of life is so governed from the moment one wakes up, one is surrounded with specialists or expert in a particular field…. Again, all of which based via a bodily and or mental way whilst ignoring in the process the whole. That we are used to be involved in specifics and details and minutiae is more than obvious. Seems to be the way things are and one accepts this as the modal way of being. There is no time to pause or reconnect with one’s being. Best if one lives a superficial mode where the little free time one has is reinvested in other equally other similar modes that of either remaining or maintaining off the bodily self and or where one moves away from this at best towards a further fragmented mode.

How may one see that beauty of life as it presents itself?  As for instance on a clear summer day, it is about further enjoyment to the detriment of witnessing that realm of the non-partial. Because we have lived so much in that realm of the partial; it has become almost a compulsion to view things indeed everything through that way of being. Instead of witnessing nature as it reveals the search is for those pleasures which further entangled us into captivity.

Verily it is a challenged to be…… hence the meditation. Are you ready for it?

 

 

 

 

 

Exploring ‘Me-ism’…………

Me-ism is that culture which promotes an egoistic or more precisely a false concept of the self that one is. In the bodily form arises an aspect of what is not. It is that which is seen and most readily observable to others. When we say that that we love or hate someone what is meant is that there is either an attraction or some extreme dislike to the other’s bodily projection as seen by the gross senses.

What arise in such a mode of being is a truncated version of the self that one is, an exterior form of the self, a form not quite with itself as the subject likewise is entangled and immersed in the mundane where there may not be clarity. It is like searching for a unicorn, where one is always bewildered or mesmerised… not for lack of trying but in the main for not quite knowing where, how to proceed and indeed seeking that what is not.

That what is not is the arena where one functions as a bewildered being and so all that one encounters likewise turns into a futile exercise partly as the modus vivendi  is within the realm of the known …… that culture which is not an open ended one but merely closed at the level of the gross level a kind of a brute form which ignores the quintessence of the self. The superficial and material takes over as one resides at that level of the obvious or the mundane in which one is firmly entangled. It a crude form that one is faced with. Likewise, a similar portrait is perceived via the other. Or it may be all be blurred as that arena is a polluted one based on the interactions which holds one to ransom at that gross level.

To be sure it is not what I am proposing to do herewith and or provide the reader with a fait accompli in an era where everyone seeks things to be done instantly. If you may not do so, others would readily throw finger of accusations stating that one is not up to it as if there are some predefined ways of doing things in life. Where one does not join such club, a label is thrown at the other stating they do not quite belong to that culture which merely reinforces a certain way to be.

I shall refrain from engaging in a style which claims that one knows but rather with Socrates use the latter’s dictum of ‘all that I know is that I know nothing’. In a way that becomes a mode of basing one’s search rather than be a fixation which is a common trend or the idea of being and indeed living becomes a perennial search whilst probing into intelligence rather than adopting the norms of the mental faculty as the latter merely forces one to be there and or perceptions of the what is via a veil.

It is towards this culture or the set form of being in the mundane within the material world that I am venting this blog as a way of clarifying. Let us see that bodily self clearly projects a way of being at subjugating every other. It is a fiercely conditioned state where one simply run, run and run from the start of a working day to the evening whilst delving very little on the real self that one is. Or that one is not in the realm of eat, drink and be merry. Challenge it and more open opposition is created. It is best left alone where there is a non- rapport way of being where the ‘me ‘or the ‘I’ along with the others are self-contented caught up in a fixed norm of the superficial gazing at each other. In such interactions there can never be an openness as the revelation and the revealed are both pre-determined.

Surrounded and mostly in that bodily format which emit a me-ism onto the world…. a kind of a rampant muddled form emerges One may never know the self as there is hardly any time to break free momentarily let alone reflect. All one’s projects are based with a connection to that gross form as is exhibited in the materialistic culture which one’s subscribes to which has mundaneness as its defining characteristics; that culture which is merely dependent on the gross senses where the latter  often is veiled: what I perceive is a fact and what I hear is also another fact. Likewise, what I touch must be real.  Or what I experience for oneself must be and end of it all…. a way of being where each other are merely a pawn of the known.

Likewise witness the gross and so we are misled as what emerges is a confused apparition with the other and the’ me’. No wonder there is misunderstanding as what the arrogant sees is another arrogant self or me-ism and definitely a non-enlightened one who is self or shall I precise false ego conditioned. In such a conditioned there can hardly be a rapport.

Rapport is fragile based on the superficial at that which is directly seen. So, it is always about I love you. You love me. You hate me and sure I return you the compliment.  That is what we deal with. Nothing more nothing less but reaching out to that being at a level of mind based on the material, the superficial…. Even within a family where each member is more concern about their ‘Me’ rather than be in presence. Dialogue is no more. All has been stolen, taken away and we just are a puppet at the mercy of the technology. A smart phone and communication to others in that mode, a kind of seeing others through that medium. A frightening scene no doubt which the reader may recognise. To be sure, if the other were in presence, it matters little for there is always a barrier, a separatism which is characterised by the existential mode of a Me-ism state.

In that form one surrenders the self unto that false conditioned ego which may or could never see above and beyond. It sees just what exists with the gross senses.

 

An insight into separatism…..

One resides in the realm of the exterior. Around and about is a dense forest of delusion, a maze which one has to makes sense of. At every step there is difficulty and one may easily fall prey to that which is revealed  as it appears.

In this entanglement even such perceptions are marred by a lack of clarity as to the what is, this is mostly wrapped up in a veil of creed or other salience which has polluted one’s being making a clear vision  almost not possible because what is carried from moment to moment is the  confused mind which dictates on the question of both the seen and then how to be. What is perceived is not quite objective. It may never be as the mind often comes in and acts an adjudicator when it takes over: in a way becomes that which guides us.

With that being the issue, one finds it almost a per impossible to break free as most of the time we live in the realm as per the diktat of the mental which has taken precedence. The latter in its debased inconsistent form  moves about as per the modes of  material nature characterised by forms of ignorance, passion and goodness.

Where the first form is dominant one simply is static, sit stagnate and lives at best in a reactionary mode where the process is no less that of being dull or a mere question of working, eating, mating and enjoying…… As one moves on towards the passionate stance, there is some movement towards another form of being which is inclusive of the ignoramus mode plus a little reaching out characteristic of a way of being based on ideas of separatism where divisions by groups are apparent. One who is conditioned may involve in activities where engagement in life process is seen as a way to justify the self in a form of belonging to life in the form of divisiveness. Division is all about and around us. Some even partakes in a crusade of making gains at the expense of others. Around us …..from the social to the political as well as the cultural, education and recreational are so framed. In this modal system we are called upon to take sides or be part of something….this may start from the moment we were thrown in the world. We belonged to a family, a group, a nation, a religion, a cultural or sub-cultural group or a political party. Most of us are so framed in a surrender mode at this level…. And thus caught at a level of the conditioned mind which is not quite free but  dependent on its reaction to what is perceived within that veil. The veil in a way often provides a motivation from some to be so stuck and keep at maintaining this form of separatism.

Beyond and above is the other mode of goodness where some may rise above and beyond the confines of a polluted mind towards reaching out to others. In that goodness mode there may be some aspects of reaching out beyond the divisions where one sees the others about as not a threat but a more of what may add richness. That compassionate mode sees beyond the veil of the conditioned state. Although still within the framework of the mental yet is not in negative modes of  separatism… rather there is a positive which emerges from such a mind as it perceives the world arena with a more inspiring vision. It may still function and conforms within the aspects of separatism but none the less appreciate the world in its grandeur and thereby not degrading others by proclaiming a higher status for the ego- self; whilst throwing about garbage towards others through being condescending which is done by those in a state of negativism mode.

A vision within the mode of goodness is still within the realm of the mental operational   in which the mind may not be quite free but all the same is not as crude due to its positiveness. Therefore, a noble cause may be argued for where no other is barred unlike the counterpart of the ignorance/ passionate forms where all is proclaimed at maintaining separatism and divisions often causes arrogance, hatred and wrath.

The goodness form is characterised by authentic forms where there is appreciation regardless of one’s in situation. It is a more inclusive strategy of seeing others or very other is respected for simply revealing themselves. No divisions but an extension of the self to every other…… where one is not brutalised or scandalised for being who they are. In practice there may also be some mixed operation modes.

And further and above and beyond the modes of the humanoids are yet another mode which reaches out to every other regardless of their specie. This pure goodness form transcends not only humanoids barrier but that of specie too. In that mode one not extends the self just towards the cats and the dogs or similar domesticated animals but the compassion given to every other whether they present themselves as sheep, goats, cows or chicken or wild life at large inclusive of a slug or an ant. It is being togetherness of one and all. In this form of meditative state, there can be no separatism full stop.

It is clear as we may only be that which we are exposed to. Or develop a relationship with whom we may encounter. Reflection is a way of transcending the known or the madness of being confined at the parochial level. How may one move onwards towards non separatism or a culture of divisiveness in which we are thrown at the dawn of existence. To realise that this may be possible is to have awakened from a crude and brutal form of being. To be sure one may only do so if she/he sees the sense of this all but if governed by pettiness and divisions there may only be one way to be that of withdrawal into the false ego where the latter wishes to be at a separatist mode which may never be transcended as arrogance and conceit remains the way to be.

On the horizon one may have visions of the transcendent which not only makes one see that we are not, nay never in separation but a more positive way of being. In that non- separateness lies a non-material vision and in that kind of meditation lies ahead a way to be not caught up/entangled in the ways of the known.

 

 

 

Reaching out to the other!

Most of the time it is a question of looking onto oneself as the measure of being where others matter little or banished as part of the equation of being there. In a way it is a curious state of survival where the aspect of a truncated me-ism is always in force. In this respect there may never be an openness of being; let alone a searching out for the non-me or even an acknowledgement of the other.

Our being is so absorbed in that state of imprudence whereby the only concern remains a kind of self-preservation first with or among those we are in relationship with. That relationship itself is always a wavering one as deep one is in in negligence as regards the any other whilst the impersonal ones are simply brushed aside as beings of irrelevance. It is always a question of what it is for me and whenever one arrives at a junction, conclusions are formed haphazardly and so the other is dismissed from our existence.

The fragile nature of our relationship is such that all hinges on the mundane …. a way of being which simply sees the rise of petty arrogance of the false ego self in operation. To be sure in that state of being what started from dislike is developed into hatred and with hatred comes anger and when anger arises; we are simply at the helm of the irrational……. when violence whether it be verbal, emotional or physical comes into being, all merges in confusions and we are cobbled into subjugation and reduced to a state of nescience.,,, what then follows are non-sensible ways of being: In brief as a summary a morose way to be.

Not all are governed by that superficial mode or mundane way of being which keeps one rooted at that wrath level and ensnared in the polluted arena of materialism at its peak. Materialism is such that forces one to abide by and partake either in an ignoramus or passionate modes …..with the chances that one is always misled and drifted along  or led by some other who is a fit for the world of the transient

More generally the motto these modes are of a separatist nature where the guidelines are just a question the other and me where the non me is pushed into oblivion either through lust, anger, hatred and wrath. To be more precise there is not even a way to be. It is all being instinctive and that comes the categories as outlined in the previous sentence. A sad state to be where one may never be at peace with the self; let alone in relationship or others at large.

In such modes, material culture division where one takes sides on how best to be. In a way the whole of life is so governed and somehow one partakes in this either actively of passively. Where one accepts a certain modal way to be, by a plain adoption one becomes a party to a way. This in itself may mean that some others are excluded based on different barriers framed which essentially humanoids have created for how they perceive a way to be.

However, in the mode of goodness where there is a no denial of  the other albeit within the realm of the mundane; proponents attempts to create a culture of a movement away from separatism towards a more unifying approach of openness characterised for instance of the form which Romain Rolland speaks of …. That of a culture in its grandeur which is open to all and not only to a few or a certain class or group who feels that heritages, cultures of the world are their own property only and revel at creating boundaries based on their partial comprehension   of the way to be. On the other hand, it is a mammoth task to move away from the norm of a passionate or ignoramus form towards a more authentic way of being based on a non-separatist form. Indeed, it is difficult to adopt such a realm. The virtue of doing this though is that one is not subjected to a separatist format.

There is an attempt at reaching out… at extending a gesture of goodwill towards the other. This working frame sees the other as a living warmth whereby there is no denial of the other, any other not merely humanoids.

An exclusive culture thrives on separation and neglect whilst belittling of a few or some others. It creates a barrier between the self and the other. In that state of being there may never be a care of the other; of the form every other rather a few others based on one’s saliencies. Without such an extension one merely lives in the realm of the pettiness which has boundaries. Where one sets boundaries, it becomes more than obvious that there may never be a sans frontiere or openness approach, It would always comes down to the superficial. With superficiality one is back in the realm of known with its divisiveness and culture of the arrogant.

That is why non separatism may never be a fully operational within the just a for humanoids and extending this to a few selected other living entities. One has to stretch all this to be inclusive of all living entities where one adopts not a jungle type approach of survival of the fittest but that of appreciating and seeing any other as being indeed part of an eco-system which is there for one and all. Or one may say there is claim that a particular group may have exclusivity towards a particular way of being to denial of others. Without the other one may not be. One needs to acknowledge at least if not appreciate every other’s contribution in a system which is after all an arena where every other exist and are there in the world as it unfolds in front us and not the contaminated way which a group or some others may imposed on the other.

The extension of such a modal way of being may require that one moves away from the material zone towards a transcending of the latter and in reaching out create a norm of pure goodness; a form that verily reaches to very other regardless of specie. By doing so one may reach a sense of non- separatism and unity of being! Is such a state possible?

 

Awakening of intelligence!

Living from moment to moment is always viewed to be adventurous and another way to be. It is a carefree and seems an ideal mode of being where one may just take things spontaneously. The flip side of which is that one is simply caught up in things about us and that we are but mere reactionaries.

Reactionaries by nature has nothing worthwhile to contribute. They fumble along content to be in a culture of passivity where one seems not to contribute if any at all to the way things reveal to us. To live things as they are means that we just sit back and react, and or over react when and if there is a need to.

And so; moments go by and the hours, days and months and years. In the process we are mere puppets having been thrown in a world and await and or just remain  in a consumer trend where one is unable to or let us say feels no need to be dynamic.

We are not active but in a state of ignoramus through our own making where our contributions are aspects of patching up here and there based on what is thrown at us echoing the idea of chewing the chewed.

This means that we are part of the mass of the modern proletariat which sell its labour to the establishment in return to be involved in some specific and clearly defined specialism. It is obvious that this is so since most of the time any act of involvement over and beyond the call of duty may not be. It is all seems futile and truncated since what has emerged out of mass expertise; is a kind of Delta or epsilon (Cf: Orwellian terms) who simply function robot style within an ensnared system.

Any contribution may only be lip service to others who are equally victims of mere beings in the world. Yet there is a sense of efficiency with which one seems to go about one’s business; all by way of reaction if at all as this is indeed part of coexisting in a world of highly technical and sophisticated aspects of specialism.

We are all to a large extent in that mode of passivism where all we do for instance is abide and or indeed accept the diktat of the experts who knows whereas we do not know. Whether it is by a mere cross in the ballot box or accepting what the other says as regards our participation in life is simply a matter of listening to the highly sophisticated experts. It is a way one has chosen life to be and there seems to be no way out of it except to merely acknowledge that there are others highly efficient in looking at specifics….. hence our own specialism in our chosen field of work.

In another mode of being one may also take up a passionate way to be and be involved in some cause which makes one moves out of a state of ignorance towards being active but that activity is again based on a plan as set out by others and again all we do is be involved as per others directives. The point is that is it possible to be move out of these modes and adopt a more proactive mode to be?  What would that entail?  Perhaps one of cautiousness in moving forward!  Perhaps one of questioning our whole modal way of being! Or perhaps one of not merely be subjugated to the mundane ways of being.

In moving away from the material modes where our existence is polluted with forms of just being there and or acting as per what some others say and indeed from our own pettiness; to a more proactive approach one is there so to speak rather than having some others there for one. It is a vision to be where one has actively sought out a means to be above and beyond the modes as defined by the ways of being subdued or subjugated into surrender without even trying.

The call here in this mode is to move to that knowledge which transcends the material modes with its clearly ill-conceived ways which incessantly simply logs one in surrender and so a vicious circle emerges where we just give in as if there is no other way out. The process of moving out of surrender or the transformation of reactionary into pro-activity is a state of to be sure not being a jack of all trade but verily a question of being wholly responsible for the self that one is rather than giving in to the mind. Indeed a question of awakening one’s intelligence to clearly witness the grandeur of life ………not via a veil where some populists or other similar reactionaries may seek to plunge us into based on the superficial but to verily engage oneself with the dialectics of life.

That dialectics is a way to be where one may perceive life as it is not as what someone may want it to be for us. It is a question of being there by way of for ever being vigilant whilst taking note of what is revealed not from a particular perspective but one of acknowledging. Let us say that it is very much a question of exposing rather than being imposed upon.

With this being so; it is also a question of getting back to the self that one is rather than being held to ransom by the mind. In this latter mode, one’s goal is clear. Nay; no other may claim royalty over one’s own participation within the world. Verily intelligence going above and beyond the mind warns us to attempt seeing clearly one’s goal or let us even pronounce the goal in the horizon. Loose it and one simply wavers around being unsure what to do and sometimes one gives in to others who may have a different agenda based on their way of being as per a closed mind.

The question is very much that of being clear and keeping sight of that goal at all times and one way of doing so is to have a plan as to how to reach it. Unfortunately, most of us do not have a life goal and with this being so it is no surprise that vultures are always around preying on victims. Life is very much a question of wising up through one’s intelligence and finding out that elusive life goal rather than be a victim of our mind which may lead us astray through acceptance of demagogic others. Pray appeal to intelligence so that the mind becomes a friend.

To trust or not to trust…..

To trust or not to trust is the question that puzzles one when faced up with meeting others. One may either be seen to be too gullible or naïve in a world where the other appears as a threat to my being. One never quite knows what to expect in the garb of what seems to be projected. The other may either be a living warmth or a rogue appearing disguised with a different agenda.

Recently there have been cases of some famous public figures who were initially in their prime as respected beings to be later condemned for vile atrocities in the form of violence, tortures and rapes of others. That we live in a sickening world on the one hand is there for all to see with its hypocrisies, hatred and confusions.

Its antithesis being that it is the only world we have and yet somehow one has to ambiguously try seeking not to somehow simply be indulged in non-trust for its own sake or a form of a misplaced one.

That would negate at a stroke that just as there are disguised ruffians about who is ready to pounce at every opportunity likewise there are genuine beings who are not simply a product of mere schooling/ higher indoctrination through partial and highly effective specifications to the point of ignoring every other but one own self as there  are equally others who are as noble and gentle as one self.

Due to the former way of interactions whether it be violence, hatred coupled with anger and similar negatives; for sure it is always prudent to be alert and vigilant as one never knows: Recently a young man asked to have his battery charged at my place as I pulled in my driveway. He was walking on the footpath.

And he added that he would stay out and await. Within the approximately 60 seconds of brief exchanges, he added that he had an important call to make and would I oblige? I opted promptly towards my discriminative instincts with a firm negative. That led me to think that we had forgotten to trust others particularly in a world where one hears too often of knife attacks (a recent increasing British phenomenon) and or other stories of robbery and similar.

In retrospective, I took a thoughtful decision as the passer by as described above could have carried on and some less than fifty yards there was a BP Petrol/ M&S shop and on the opposite side of the road there was another public venue … a restaurant where a similar request may be made easily.

In this instance again it is wise to be vigilant at all times as one never knows the motive of the other or any other for that matter. So a well-placed mistrust has its raison d’etre.

At the same time. I do not wish to simply develop and nurture a sense of misplaced view on this matter and or to instead move away from trust altogether thereby developing a global mistrust of others completely.

That would be to fall prey and be a victim of the known in its crude sense as in adopting such a view point one fails to appreciate the other. That there are significant others who create damages to the functioning of a civilised society likewise that are ample of others who are want to live in a world of peace and where non hatred or violence in every form towards any other is repudiated. Therefore, it seems that it not be appropriate to simply merely espouse a vigilante attitude towards all others. Perhaps towards a few others… yes!

In some ways we may not quite pronounce that all the when we may remark that it was better in the good old days. Or that it is a modern phenomenon. That would be too simplistic as we take take shelter of our historical past.

Or that our ancestors were more in tune with how to be or that there were hardly if any problems of the form one is faced up in a modern world where communication has got easier and easier. Let just say that the problems were there even in the past. It is just that one was not aware as a society.

From a generation to the other to be sure different challenges are faced. The problems were there. It simply did not surface for lack of communication as hinted above.

Or one may remark that such things were always there whether it be sexism, paedophiles, terrorism or similar lack of respect to the other where the latter is ever ready to pounced on the victims. From history we learned that women as a group accepted a large amount of violence as would those belonging to the oppressed.

The oppressors have been those who were in relatively safe position of trust and had the security of tradition or wealth behind them which they would sometimes abuse. We know too of horrors stories emanating from the second world war or how a group of people suffered or how others suffered due to different skin colours.

Or how some were exterminated because of their beliefs. Such events are ample even now as some are persecuted either for their beliefs or non-belief. It is a kind of an ongoing distress of the human malaise at lack of respect for others whilst somehow some other gives themselves the liberty to either commit atrocities and or simply be involve and promote a culture of hatred and abuse which perpetuate itself all the times.

How does one live in a world of confusion? Or should do? Is it possible to adopt a way of being which cancels out negativism and where one may not want to simply lead a fragmented existence? Or should one withdraw within one shell to the extent of denying that there may be yet another way whereby one may continue to have trust in humanity rather than just seeing all others as a mere threat?

Could it be the question that surfaces from our discussion that it is no longer a question of whether ’to trust or not to trust but how to trust!’ or that of trying to be sensitive thereby perceiving both  rascals as well as comrades as they manifest rather than having a trust or non-trust !

 

 

The struggle for existence!

Doing this and not the other. Choosing a certain way to be. All in the mind. The conclusive element is already there. A question of seeing and witnessing but not denying. In denial one may think there may be escape. Wittgenstein already observed that in many ways we are like the falling leaf of a tree … with its course already set: from this one may observe that the leaf is in the illusion and sometime saying, I fall this way; sometimes I fall the other way but a failure to apprehend that there is a guaranteed failure from the moment the course has started from its leaving the branch connected to the tree.

There is adjustment made here and there. One revels in trying to make the process that we go through as being the be and end of it all. Is there a chance of witnessing the whole rather than a mere part? Can one actually witness that grandeur of life beyond and above? And be contended with what one has? Is it possible to lead a simple life? What is a simple life? Is it one that does not prey on others? Is it one that does not make any demand but simply be there and just witness?

Or is it one where the mind in its operation mode always attempt to trample on the other. What right does one have to do so?  At the point of severance and being thrown one is all equal: The rest is madness, pure delusion and not seeing the whole but caught up in the whim of the mental. My mental being prevents me from moving onwards and forwards.

It is an undeniable error that one is alone. Only in that aloneness may want discover life as it is. Or we may say that it is never up to the other to constantly disrupt the move of one who needs to seek and discover through meditative process a way out of the maze.

The maze is there. Caught up one brutally awoke and saw the arena as is revealed. To search and to discover needs be commended rather than trying to be imposed. To expose is much better than to impose: In the latter mode there is mostly an element of trying to control in operation with the mind thinking and thinking as its wants to build a boundary around a certain way of being base on the seen, the fragment aspect.

In the non wholistic way of being or separatist format one thus develops a relationship, then a friendship, a family, later on a group and or the usual search for belonging to a certain approach. Tribalism then  creeps in with the mind in operation. And the point of it all is simply to seek at seeing life through a veil.

The acceptance of a veil of being is that the other may be denied space to be which brings in protest through attempts of moving onwards and discarding the root of one’s being. The beauty of life lies not in a voracious attempt at not witnessing multi approach but not seeing a clear pattern as clearly and distinctly where the non-mental or intelligence takes over.

The mental sees from partiality whilst the intelligence witnesses the whole. It is therefore a question of turning inwards/fine tuning with the self  and or towards making or allowing the latter to becomes the compass of one’s state of being. In doing so one moves away from a crude attempt at denying any other space to be and lead an existence. The question after all is not simply being about me and me and me or what is me-ism but rather an aspect of reaching out where a simple living emerges.

In such a simplicity there is no mental arrogance or a lust or anger or a tribal form of being but of real and actual opening up to another form from that of attempting to be just at the helm. Rather there is no helm. One is all in the same boat and trying to navigate and find a way. The misery of life emerges only in a failure of apprehension where the mind which is based on a partial or subjective approach is caught up time and time again in a whirl of tempest through its own doing. Intelligence at least prickle the self towards an awakening where one is able to see and or act not in a futile mode as per the diktat of a mind on impulse but more in  a proactive way where one may begin to appreciate that even oneself is a victim.

Or let us observe that we are all in  this maze just attempting to figure a way out if at all…..hence the struggle for existence! Shall I turn hither or tither? Is the question simply about seeking a way out of just being? Or does it just mean to be so and appreciate and a question of reaching out without any demand to just be?

In silent mode of meditation perhaps one may come to terms with that maze into which we have been thrown into. And perhaps with some possibility to appreciate the ego self that we are instead of blindly being a victim of the known or of the false ego for in the latter comes pride, falsity and control whilst in the former one rises above and beyond to extend that hand of comradeship unto the other and of reaching out.

It is not simply about winning and loosing but somehow the idea of participating in the mode of an authentic way where there is appreciation of every other regardless of their station in life. Tulsidasa whilst writing the Ramcharitmanasa or Ramayana in Hindi indeed felt the necessity to acknowledge each and everyone including the crude and the vulgar. To reach that level of appreciation requires indeed a special qualification that of simply being there rather than being caught up in one’s false ego with its self interest based on inbuilt barriers.

There is no need to complicate life issues. It is just a question of being and not that of imposing as hinted earlier…..

Beware of the senses!

Gratification of the senses becomes the way of life or let us say a lifestyle as adopted by those who either live in the realm of false ego and superficial sometimes also characterised by arrogance, conceit and ignorance.

As such all actions are dovetailed within and towards the mundane. All life is a mere engagement to seek out pleasures unlimited from most if not all of the senses available.

They would try anything and or indeed everything to derive happiness echoing either a Bentham view or a Millian type at best…. a motto which in some ways makes the world goes round, some may add.

However, one may observe even at the outset that our friends do not know what is to be done or what is not to be done. The powers of discrimination may have left the seekers of such ventures. Diligence and prudence may have left their being as the engagement is merely about aspect of leading an existence based on knee-jerks forms or simply being a reactionary. In such a mode of existence there is no thoughtful or creative organised pattern. Everything is just done instinctively with the goal being not seeing above and beyond what is revealed through the direct senses.

The bodily senses have taken over and the mind is no longer a friend as one follows the diktat of the mind. In this mode intelligence is not used neither is the wisdom of reflection. It is simply a question of the gross senses at work where it is all about a blatant existence at the superficial mode of being.

Verily there is no reflection but a mere search of how to reap all potential benefits from the senses. It is plain enjoyment with little regards as to whether such actions have any bearing on one’s being or whether in some instances if one’s actions may cause distress to others.

Rather, it is a disjointed approach at simply being hedonistic which a sane mind may never condone. The other or others about us may not matter if at all as there is a firm resolution to move forwards and onward based on the gross aspect of being. It is all about me-ism, full stop. The fact of the matter is that what is in operation is a mind acting in ignorance to such an extent that it feels that it is the only way to be.

Instead one succumbs to lust, desires and makes one accepts norm of the impermanent with its insatiable desires and so the whole process calls for an adoption of a way of life which becomes in a way a measure of how to be.

A way where one becomes bound by a network of illimited desires. It is a venture which goes round and round…. in circles and appear to have no end as one simply is caught by one wanting more and more of the same. Just like opium which corners one into seeking more and more or wanting to be submerged one in sports or other passive entertainments. The idea is to have fun and in so doing proponents lead a debased form of existence without quite being aware of it.

Sometimes these takes us towards actions that may be avoided. At other times one find momentary solace in other activities which are venues filled with aspects to derive pleasures and or having a good time where apart from opportunities to meet like-minded people also may become places where one simple lives as per whims of the mind ….in the moment where any one may become a victim of circumstance.

Such a lifestyle simply leads one into more aspects of the superficial and the mundane ways of making pleasures the goal of life.

To be sure the recommendation is to seek out other equally vibrant and perhaps more fun ways of seeking a totally different way of being where one is not baffled by the realm of the known where one puts a halt and pause button to a commonly mundane style of existence.

It is not for this blogger to pronounce effective ways of being. That would be for each reader to   decide. As long as one takes warning of the mundane ways and put brakes on accepted impermanent modes through one’s reflection one may realise of the what to do as oppose to not what to do. And so being cautious one may perhaps start bringing some balance in one’s life without falling prey to a form or some particular crude way of being.

Life is ambiguous in that to claim exclusivity for one’s views may be equally alarming. As long as one begins to meditate on the way to be rather than taking for granted the ways of the world with its projects making desires and plain gratification a goal then the task of this writer has been successful. After all who am I to claim that I may solve the riddle of existence.

Philosophy also makes no such claims. And so with the latter we pronounce: Over to you comrade as it is your life on which you have first priority. As far as this author is concerned, his main duty was about sounding an alarm….a warning against naivety and towards a more positive approach not to easily give in to the mundane and or its horrors for cautiousness in a world where one maybe easily led astray in spite of our expertise in other aspects  life.

It may be wise to take note of what others say particularly in matters of being prudent and diligent.

 

Being prudent and diligent!

Life is an on-going learning process. For the crude or vulgar this may not be so. After a set of mundane targets; one is immersed in a form of life which keeps one firmly entangled in a way…nay a certain way of being based or dare one add debased way of being.

The choice to live at the crude level in adopting a lifestyle which does not add to one’s
being but merely takes away need be questioned and called to scrutiny in an act of being there. Not to do so implies that  one succumbs easily to whimsical modes of being.

That crude level may be defined where one chooses to deliberately seek a way of being which one moves towards in spite of our scholarship in other areas of life where one falls prey to or give in to vulgar or crude desires.

Whilst one may never prescribe a way of being it is incumbent to awaken and always question as to why there is a choice which often plunges one to a brutal level.

The naive always feel that one is in control: of course one is not simply because we are knowingly espousing a way of being which in many ways may jeopardise our whole effort at reaching out.

The extreme is in adopting of vile forms as a way to experience a certain and quick way of seeking those at seeking ultimate pleasures. The temptation is always there as often one comes crashing down and our whole foundation is perturbed.

To place oneself in situations that may cause or bring about problems onto oneself and or fails to add learning experience is not the way of the prudent or diligence.

The whole process of life is about wising up and always put to question on matters as to why does one want do certain things as opposed to others.

Can the other add to my being and or always a drain on the self? The rational mind needs be vigilant and or aware less one becomes a victim of one’s own doing. Life is a process of being responsible at all times. Where one fails to justify one’s  being against any form of choice or that ” my choice” fails to add value onto my lifestyle then one has to question one’s choices.

It is my life. It is my choice may come the answer. What I do is of no concern to anyone. That is the ultimate rebellion to which no one has an answer but our comrade may well have to pause and look within before seeking a firm resolute way of moving and or adopting a particular lifestyle.

The crude lifestyle only become a burden to one’s being. It debases life. Balance is affected and the norm is channelled towards putting desires at the forefront …a kind of a mundane ones which never quite may come to terms with a reflective style of living.

In my reflective state of being; I call a halt to my mundane being and or pause. In so doing ‘I’ question myself. Why am I engaged in such and such a lifestyle? How will that add to my being! Or verily takes away from my foundation. What value will it add? Would there be any advantage to use a coaching related term or will it simply be a hindrance?

To be sure it is not in the style of the blogger to give or provide the other with a fait accompli as indeed each one needs to take full responsibility for one’s actions.

In choosing a to adopt a way life which fails to bring respect and or cause undue stress to any others of others or for that matter self torture  only ‘I ‘ become responsible. To perceive that one may have done otherwise rather than a path of destruction in spite of oneself as if drawn in a pool of debased form is indeed the way of one who pauses and not fall prey to reactionary modes.

Often though in relationship one fails to see how any of such activities may cause distress to the other with whom we are close to. By deliberately adopting a particular lifestyle one moves away at a stroke from a set of values. Sometimes if those values cause disturbance or is a hindrance to one’s being to be sure one ought to question any non-authentic forms, However if the foundation of such values are based on not causing distress or violence then it is incumbent on the questioner to take a deep breath step aside and or stop pause and reflect. For who is to tell in that mode of reflection may yet lies an answer to our search for being.

The question is surely if one wishes to adopt or seek a lifestyle why not consider those that may always add instead of substract. In this vein should I consider others and or their feelings? Why? Why not?

And finally comrade the choice is yours!

 

Appreciating the other…….

Life is always fluid. There is no end to what awaits us at the next moment. In life each goes his own way doing their own things with little or no regard to the other even where one lives in a relationship.

Part of the problem is that one tries to be in control and feels that things ought to revolve around the self and when this no longer happens one fails to either see the logic of being or appreciate aspect of the starting short sentence of this blog.

This being so: No wonder that we struggle. Always struggle to bring an authentic way of being in the form of a compass which guides us. The religious have their set norm: Such an upbringing ensures that there is a focus… a clear one on the horizon which way to be. The problem with this is that each and every one within any given unit have to have ascribe to a way of being. Where there is no consensus; problem emerges. And one often wonders why this may be so.

The nature of material life is that it has its own pulling power which forces us onto adopting norms which are ensnared with desires whether these may be plain aesthetic, physical, social, mental or emotional.

The strange thing is that the doer feels that one knows as this is a clear way forward. The pursuit of hedonistic happiness is the be and all of everything. One is so sure of this that one life becomes the measure of such a process. And so we may engage in all forms of living; just to seek a little or some happiness. In that pursuit to be sure we may fail to acknowledge and or appreciate what lies beyond such a veil- style of living. In this process; we may likely ignore to see the what is. And so contented with our new style… we became simply pleasure seekers.

Desires and pleasures go a hand in hand. To some extent even the witnessing that others adopt such a standard becomes the norm or a way to be. One may not be able to do anything, Just observe and see how things unfold. One sees that doers are those who take on a platform of engagement in the mode of reactionaries who just do things at a level where more pleasures are sought. Our comrades often would even remark… Is this not what life is all about?

They might say that even the foundation of a family life is based on desires between two people in the first place and that in itself yield to a cycle of maintaining desires without which family life, groups, nationhood and world may become defunct. Our friends may indeed be correct in their initial observations as it is indeed desires that is the norm for aspects of material society.

However, the observation fails to appreciate that there is another realm which calls into question just to simply make mundane desires as a way to be! And that is to seek out and or search for a way to be not governed by instinctive desires but verily check out if there is anything more to life than a mere plain desires way of living.

To be sure such a query will question our friend’s way of being. It would also question the ides that all life is just about seeking happiness and avoidance of pain and suffering. Humans have developed sophisticated means of creating pleasures in the forms of games/sports/cinema. On another level they have also created music and the arts and theatres and or other forms that are attractively to the mind. However, in many ways they all contribute to that form of happiness.

The question always remain is there a different realm or must one always engage in a certain way of being that is to keep  grobbling about as if this the only way? Proponents are quick to justify that theirs is the best way to be because to a large extent they conform to the wider or perhaps a norm in that there is justification for a particular way of being. So we deride what others do or may not do putting our way of being or dare I say our new found way on a pedestal while relegating others.

As I continue delving in this blog; it is emerging that there may perhaps not be a particular way of being in life in the world but what remains is simply a question of how we see things in life. Or there may not be a certain way to be but perhaps it is about a question of seeing where our own preferred allegiance may be and by so doing we take sides and or life process becomes a question of Either/Or!

On another view it is not even a question of Either/Or but simply to be there and or perhaps taking note of and of stock of the life process. For a renunciate the ways of the world, the norm of a life may not be seen in the same vein as one who is starting on the road to appreciate life may come the reply.

Appreciation may well involve exploring the multi forms of models of happiness and aspects of desires which unfold perhaps from senses which are in its prime whilst the renunciate  may only see beyond and above the mundane and yet it is precisely through the mundane that one may come across ways which questions everything. But then we are told that a fool learn from the his own mistakes whilst the wise learn from the mistakes of others!

When all is said and done the clarity or lacks of it becomes one’s vision to be based on a choice whether one seeks to adopt a more mundane or purely materialistic form which subjugate us into living a la reactionaries. Or perhaps choosing another way that of being in the mode of proactive where things are questioned at all times so that there is not an acquiescence to any form of passive residual form of living where one enters a non- natural mode or let us say a passive way of being in spite of comprehending that any blind hedonism  needs be put to the test.  To some this may not be done as there is already an adoption of a certain way to be as already hinted and which is what we are discussing herewith. But then who am I as a writer to stress on the importance of being proactive: Perhaps all living is to be reactive to some thing or event as it unfolds or life as it appears. The question remains though: Does one has to be in a mode of being which to be sure merely seek those pleasures at the expense at torturing one’s bodily self? Or should the wise be more alert

And so: What does it mean to be aware? Who knows? I like to leave this to the reader to make his own conclusions and decide what or how to be?
